Job Summary Provides day-to-day management of all mechanics at their domicile shop. Overall responsibilities include scheduling of all repairs coming into the facility, and strategically assigning the work to each technician. The person in this role is the first point of contact with drivers entering the shop requesting work and repairs on their equipment. Duties and Responsibilities:
Accepts repair requests from the drivers/ reconcile D.V.I.R.’s
Discusses specific symptoms of equipment malfunction to assist technicians in diagnosing problem
Day-to-day management of work on the floor, and work scheduled to come into shop
Compliance with Repair Stances
Communication with operations on status of equipment on the shop floor
Keep all AVI and PM Scheduling screens updated and current
Shop organization and cleanliness.
Responsible for all computer entry related to repair orders and shop scheduling functions. Creation of internal repair orders
Coach and train technicians to be efficient and productive
Schedule and track forklift maintenance, in house and outside
Handle Breakdown repairs
Promote compliance with DOT and CSA regulations
Interact with assigned outside vendors to monitor progress and costs of out-sourced repairs
QUALIFICATIONS: 3-5 years experience as a Service Manager in the Diesel Maintenance Field CDL license preferred
