Production Supervisor 2nd Shift Confidential Manufacturing Company Cleveland, OH
Job Summary: Reporting to the Director, the Production Supervisor will be located at (Greater Cleveland / Akron area). This leader plans, organizes, controls and directs the activities and material of the production area(s) in order to meet Safety, Quality, Delivery, Human Capital and Cost objectives. They will maintain production records and ensures standard operating procedures are being followed. They direct, motivate and engage line personnel to maximize daily production to the full capabilities of the line.
Key Responsibilities
Responsible for all processes, equipment, employees, safety and housekeeping of the area.
Ensures department is run effectively with priority on safety and quality.
Maintains thorough knowledge of all processes and equipment.
Continuously analyzes current processes and implements safer and more efficient operations.
Direct team members on their tasks and job duties per shift.
Keeps a pulse on the engagement of production team members and communicates the effect on operations to upper management.
Has the ability to monitor how current policies and procedures affect the operation and make recommendations for improvement.
Consults regularly with the Human Resources team ensure consistency in application and enforcement of policy.
Serves as a role model related to building a culture of trust, respect, execution and continuous process improvement.
Maintain daily downtime log.
Insure waste is being properly marked and stored on the production line.
Close all production during shift.
Insure that all quality checks are being done and recorded.
Reports to engineering group any mechanical issues or actions that need to be addressed to insure the quality and productivity of the line.
Reports directly to the Director any and all issues occurring on the line.
Instructs and directs the line operator of the schedule and any changes in the schedule.
Train and cross train all employees on the production line, evaluate and review operators, and recommends/initiates disciplinary actions.
Train, mentor and coach Line Leaders.
Perform task of putting in lot codes, box codes and the print and apply.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience.
Manufacturing supervision experience preferred.
Proven leadership skills.
Knowledge – Skills – Abilities
Overall knowledge of machinery, strong leadership and communication skills (both oral and written).
Strong attention to details, organization ability and ability to interact well with others.
Exhibits professionalism.
Ability to work well under moderate supervision.
Ability to troubleshoot electrical, pneumatic, and mechanical equipment.
Ability to understand and solve manufacturing problems and dimensional or calculation errors.
Ability to focus on continuous process improvements, manage change and engage the workforce.
Physical Requirements
Ability to work in manufacturing plant environment.
Occasionally may be required to reach, squat, bend, and lift up to 40 lbs.
