Postdoctoral Fellowship for training in Cardiovascular Research and Translational Science in the Cardiovascular Medicine Division, Knight Cardiovascular Institute,
Oregon Health & Science University, Portland, OR Job Summary: The Knight Cardiovascular Institute at Oregon Health & Science University has made translational cardiovascular science a major priority of its educational mission. We are requesting applications from motivated and qualified PhD and MD scientists to train in our NIH-sponsored T-32 training program in translational cardiovascular medicine. This program funds young scientists to train and be mentored by highly-accomplished clinical and basic research scientists who are renowned for applying cutting edge scientific ideas to improve human health. Unique aspects of our training program include provision of individualized curriculum and career development, and a multidisciplinary approach that involves co-mentorship from basic and clinical scientists. Thematic strengths of the program include developmental origins of cardiovascular disease, cardiovascular development, lipid biology, cellular and molecular imaging, thrombosis and hemostasis, and microvascular physiology. Our goal is to continue our tradition of producing diverse scientists who are prepared for a career as an independent investigator in an academic institution with a focus on bringing science to the benefit of patients from all backgrounds.
