Linehaul Driver at our Portland Terminal

Oak Harbor Freight Lines is an established regional LTL carrier operating in Washington, Oregon, Idaho, California and Nevada.
We currently have an excellent opportunity for line-haul drivers to join our team. Operating regionally between Oak Harbor terminal locations throughout five western states, our drivers operate modern, well-maintained tractor/trailers and are home regularly. Most are home daily, some layovers may be required.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Move freight between terminals at night safe and efficiently
  • Responsible for noting and recording exceptions in count or condition of shipments to minimize cargo claims
  • Management of paperwork: i.e. check for accuracy and completion of delivery receipts, bills of lading, trailer manifests, counting freight, accuracy of hazardous material shipments, special loading and handling instructions
  • Responsible for regrouping shipments as needed
  • Ability to meet the Company's reliability standard for employees
Oak Harbor Drivers Must:
  • Be at least 21 years old
  • Possess a Class A CDL
  • Ability to obtain Hazmat, Tanker and Double/ Triples endorsements is required
  • Experience driving doubles and/ or triples
  • Minimum of one-year, verifiable commercial driving experience with similar equipment
  • Valid DOR Medical Certification Required
  • Have no record of DUI, Reckless Driving, License Suspension or Accidents during the past 3 years.
  • Ability to operate equipment alone and in inclimate weather.
  • Previous experience utilizing chains and ability to perform chaining duties when needed and/ or required.
  • Availability to work weekends and/ or nights if needed.
  • The ability to communication in a positive, effective manner with customers, co-workers and dispatch/ managers.
  • Experience and requisite strength to safely handle general freight and equipment in an LTL operation.
  • Have a general familiarity with the delivery area and ability to use local maps
  • Possess working knowledge of FMCSA Safety regulations.
