Company: Richard MacDonald Studio Job Title: Material Handler - Monterey, CA 1. Basic Job Function. Arranges for Works to be shipped that they arrive when needed and in good condition. Receives all items (except by U.S. Mail). Ensures that all inventory transactions are correctly recorded in accounting software and inventory records. Drives Studio vehicle to collect supplies, make deliveries/pick ups, etc. 2. Reports to Operations. 3. Job Responsibilities: 3.1 Prepare works for shipment based on shipping priority. Pull, pack and ship finished goods. Select the method of consignment utilizing knowledge of shipping procedures, routes, and rates. Packaging standards will be such that the Works will be sure to arrive in good condition. When a shipment is ready, receives Shipping Documents that are matched to Workshop Traveler. Arrange for a carrier vehicle or pickup |

3.2 Ascertain that all incoming and outgoing shipments are properly labeled and that correlating documents are available with each shipment. Organize records of goods shipped.
3.3 Ensure that all transactions are recorded in the company database. Enters details of Works shipped and received into accounting software (Transactions, Receipts). Ensure that item serial # numbers match the shipping paperwork. Maintain files of shipping records. Trace missing or lost shipments.
3.4 Assist in loading and unloading trucks and determining safe ways of stacking items on the truck and retrieving items in a safe manner.
3.5 Assemble wood and cardboard containers or pick pre-assembled containers.
3.6 When items are received, other than by U.S. Mail, unpack them; inspects them to ensure they are not damaged and compares the items received against the Shipping documents and/or purchase order. If there is a Purchase Order and the items are received in the correct quantity and condition, stamp “Received” and date on the copy of Purchase Order and send to the Accounts Payable Department. Enter all items received on the Receiving Register, completes all columns correctly.
3.7 Assists Production by mounting Works on marble and polishing/burnishing as needed.
3.8 Assists as directed, in periodic (usually monthly) inventory counts of Works and components.
3.9 Arranges that production and warehouse personnel advise of supplies, tools and other materials that are required. Completes a purchase order for the items and obtains the signature of Studio Manager (if under $250), of the controller (if between $250 and $500), and over $500 by Vice President, Administration. If the purchase is to be made with a credit card, obtains the card from the Assistant to the President and returns it together with the appropriate receipts.
3.9.1 Determine storage areas for incoming shipments and allocate appropriate space within the warehouse. Keeps all shipping and production areas clean and neat at all times.
3.9.2 Drives the company vehicle to obtain supplies locally or as directed.
3.9.3 Is responsible for ensuring that all company vehicles are kept clean and maintenance intervals observed. Ensure that the warehouse is cleaned and maintained at all times

Requirements
- 1-3 years of shipping experience with domestic and international freight shipments
- Familiar with shipping tools including UPS, FedEx, and DHL
- Experienced with shipping regulations and customs requirements
- Pulling and packing orders
- Must be able to lift up to 50lbs as needed, unload and load pallets and boxes
- Forklift certified a plus
- Accurately documents service orders (RMA) in multiple platforms.
- Must be self-motivated and organized
- Must have valid driver’s license.
- Must pass a drug test and background requirements.
- High school diploma, or equivalent. Computer literate, Salesforce and Great Plain experience a plus.
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand, walk, and sit. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 75 pounds. Most boxes are around 15-20 lbs.
