Job Title: Assistant Gallery Director - SALES

Candidates MUST have senior-level sales experience and a proven track-record of meeting and exceeding revenue targets. 

​A background in the Art field is HIGHLY preferred. ​

1. Basic Job Function
To represent Dawson Cole Fine Art (DCFA) in the highest professional and aesthetic manner.  To meet or exceed sales goals and to support and assist the Gallery Director in all gallery functions, activities, promotions, relationships and operations.  To follow the lead of the Gallery Director.

2. Reports to the Gallery Director.
 
3.   Position Tasks

      Sales Management

• Make personal sales to walk-in clients, referrals and phone-in contacts
• Professionally represent gallery in a well groomed, aesthetic and knowledgeable manner that cultivate continued sales
• Promote a team spirit for sales, administration and production staff members.
• Cultivate new clientele while maintaining continual contact, rapport and sales with collectors.
• Approve sales invoices prior to the completion of a sale.
• Qualify all clients and refer to their personal sales representative when necessary.
• Assist other sales representatives in whatever way necessary to professionally complete and satisfy client.
• Promote Dawson Cole Fine Art.
• Assist the Gallery Director in training  new sales consultants.  This includes sales presentations, closing techniques, client relations, gallery administration, policy and procedures, how to work a one-man shows, etc.

Merchandising

• Maintain the professional and aesthetic quality of the gallery for daily operation, tour functions, openings and special events.
• Maintain gallery appearance and atmosphere including music, lighting, pedestals, hangings, surfaces and entrance ways.
• Assist the director in placing, changing, and hanging artwork and sculpture.
• Keep gallery supplied with promotional brochures, photos and supportive collateral materials.
• Keep proper supply of necessary tools and materials for gallery operations.

 
Gallery Administration

• Support and assist Gallery Director with day-to-day operations.  Stand-in for director when away from gallery.
• Assist in keeping technical information and current pricing available to sales staff.

 
Shows, Promotions, and Community Outreach

• Participate and assist Director as needed with promotional and public relations plans, special events and gallery openings.
• Assist with presentations for tour groups and special visitors to the gallery and studio.
• Be an ‘advocate’ for arts & DCFA.

 
Gallery Security

• Follow all ‘Opening and Closing’ procedures assuring the security of all art works, furnishings, equipment and personnel.
• Handle, transport, hang, present, and store all works properly to assure their safe presentation and condition.
• Observe any suspicious behavior of walk-in’s, ‘showing an awareness’ of their presence and immediately notify other staff members.

 
Intra Company Relationships

• Develop and maintain positive working relationships with all corporate, gallery and production staff.
• Extend to all external relations, vendors, and business associates the highest professional representation and relationship benefiting the Dawson Cole Fine Art.
• Bring to the attention of the Gallery Director and or corporate offices all things that impact the success of the Dawson Cole Fine Art.
• Look to the Gallery Director for assistance, guidance and training.
