Job Title: Vice President & Corporate Controller

This role is responsible for monitoring and overseeing the implementation of company wide accounting policies; in many cases, this will include working with other members of the corporate finance team including the Vice President/Treasurer, Vice President of Tax and Vice President & CIO. The Corporate Controller will play an important part in developing and maintaining lender relationships and managing the Company’s credit facility. The Company is frequently involved with non-routine transactions such as acquisitions or starting new operations and the Corporate Controller will play an important part in evaluating and assisting with these non-routine transactions. This role reports to the Chief Financial Officer and will communicate regularly with the Company’s President and other members of the Executive team. The individual must be an ethical leader, able to adapt and thrive in a decentralized, entrepreneurial environment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned. This position is a full time (minimum 40 hours per week) on-site position.
Corporate Accounting Functions
•Review final voucher packages and review/sign all corporate disbursement checks
•Review all corporate account reconciliations on a monthly basis and ensure accuracy of corporate financial statements
•Ensure corporate payroll is completed timely and accurately
•Review all financial statements for international holding companies
•Monitor cash position of international holding companies and coordinate capital calls as needed
•Assist with acquisitions including due diligence, structuring, reviewing acquisition related documents and integration
•Oversee and coordinate internal audits
•Responsible for assistant controller, corporate accountant and receptionist
Consolidated Financial Statements and Management Reports
•Review monthly consolidated financial statements and management reports for accuracy
•Develop new reports as needed to gain greater insights into the operations
•Prepare rolling forecast on a monthly basis with certain annual deliverables
•Coordinate annual audit with auditors and divisions; prepare consolidated financial statements and international holding company consolidated financial statements
•Prepare and review annual internal reporting package (referred to as the “Year End Book”)
Provide Leadership & Guidance to Operating Divisions
•Monitor and develop all corporate accounting policies ensuring compliance with GAAP
•Monitor and update chart of accounts
•Assist division controllers and accounting staff with accounting issues as requested, including participating and/or leading division teams for special projects
•Conduct periodic conference calls with controllers of various lines of business
•Assist in preparation for annual controller’s meeting
Bank & Lender Relationships
•Determine amount of bank debt advances and repayments on a weekly basis
•Calculate interest accruals and payments on a weekly basis
•Work with bank relationship managers as necessary with cash, debt or interest issues as they arise
•Coordinate with bank group and attorneys for credit facility document and amendments as needed
•Monitor compliance with debt covenants; provide covenants and financial statements to lenders
•Evaluate alternatives for excess cash
Qualifications
•Excellent written and oral communication skills, including ability to summarize and explain financial results and implications to those without financial backgrounds
•Knowledge of US GAAP, including compliance and reporting
•Demonstrates leadership ability, team management, and interpersonal skills
•Extensive experience in a senior financial-management role, partnering with executive staff, preferably in a manufacturing or industrial environment
•Able to successfully solve operational as well as strategic challenges
•Excellent analytical and abstract reasoning skills as well as issue identification skills; excellent organization skills are also important
•Entrepreneurial way of thinking and commercially minded method of operation.
Education and/or Experience
•Bachelor’s degree required
•Minimum five (5) years’ experience in senior finance leadership position, preferably in a manufacturing or industrial environment
•Minimum fifteen (15) years of broad finance experience
•CPA required
