Content Marketing Director

The Content Marketing Director will lead content strategy and execution, working across teams to position our Organization as the leading global provider of Cyber Security.

  • You own the voice of our Company and bring leadership experience in creating distinctive, engaging, and impactful content experiences for B2B audiences across all mediums and channels. In addition to customer-facing content, you assist in developing useful sales enablement materials for sales teams globally.
  • Using your journalism mindset, you will think about ways to editorialize content to position our company as the authoritative thought leader in our industry in our high-tech industry and beyond. You are knowledgeable in digital content creation and have a track record of producing content that converts.

Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate across teams to define an effective content marketing strategy and editorial plan
  • Be a key player in the development, evolution and curation of our Company’s Cyber Security story
  • Create excellent, well-written marketing content to support sales and branding goals, and localize that content by market as necessary
  • Define workflows and project manage the creation of additional content and ensure that content meets high brand and editorial standards
  • Maintain editorial calendar and lead regular content calendar meetings that provides visibility to key stakeholders
  • Partner with the head of Brand, Product Marketing and Regional Marketing leads to define the content vision and strategy to achieve our business goals in key markets across the globe
  • Inspire your team of storytellers and contributors, and lead the development of original content
  • Maintain editorial calendar and lead regular content calendar meetings that provides visibility to key stakeholders
  • Employ “data journalism” to create aha moments and a compelling body of insights
  • Create digital experiences for prospects and customers with content that drives engagement
  • Work with marketing managers to develop and/or vet content briefs with clearly defined objectives
  • Cultivate a deep understand of our client needs and perspectives and develop content tailored to both personas and industry verticals
  • Innovate and experiment with new forms of storytelling, production, and distribution in collaboration with other marketing teams
  • Own and maintain our copy and messaging guide; Continually refine and evolve our voice, tone, and style guidelines
  • Assist in developing a content metrics dashboard and interpret metrics related content performance and adjust strategy accordingly
  • Work with PR and Demand Generation teams to move quickly to market and pivot on new insights
  • Be a model of outstanding communication skills
  • Act on your vision for the team’s development; excel at helping others grow in their role and collaborate across the organization
  • Manage vendors, freelancers and/or agencies as necessary to support content creation and distribution
  • Get stuff done -- execute briskly with precision, in alignment with our goals and standards
 
Is This You?
  • 10+ years in editorial and content creation for a business audience
  • 3+ years in editorial leadership roles in a commercial environment, preferably in the technology sector
  • BA/BS: in journalism, creative writing, communications or related field, preferred
  • A portfolio that showcases: blogs, landing pages, thought leadership, event presentations, executive presentations, collateral, eBooks, infographics, case studies, webinars, videos and more
  • Sales-ready: experienced in working with sales teams - able define buyer journeys/empathy maps, and develop content plans based on those journeys and our organizational goals
  • Data-driven:  experienced at designing measurement practices, reporting on content marketing performance, and using performance metrics to optimize strategies
  • SEO-versed: strong understanding of SEO, necessary content categorization and structure
  • Social-media guru: versed in best practices of primary social media channels (+ email) 
  • Extensive B2B marketing content creation experience with proven results - SaaS experience a plus
  • Global experience:  know what steps to take to localize materials for a global brand
  • Experienced, strategic leader with the ability to work across teams and geographies
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with all levels of executives and management
