As a member of one of our interdisciplinary hospice care teams, you will be responsible for the medical care and treatment of your patients, consulting and collaborating with their attending physicians. In this role, you will provide direction and guidance to both staff and volunteers of the hospice team to ensure that patients and their families experience quality care. You will also actively participate in the clinical education and training for hospice patient care, admissions and administrative personnel.

Qualifications:
- Graduate of an accredited school of medicine or osteopathy, with a current CA license
- Board eligible/certified in Internal Medicine, Family Practice or other related specialty
- Member in good standing on the medical staff of an accredited California hospital
- Knowledge of the principles of palliative medicine and symptom management, with an emphasis on controlling the symptoms associated with terminal illness
- Knowledge of the principles and practice of primary medical care, including working knowledge of oncology
- Registration with Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) to write schedule prescriptions
- Medical malpractice and liability insurance in amounts and with carriers satisfactory to VITAS
